The Malaysian Crown Prince of Perlis, His Royal Highness Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, and his wife, Her Royal Highness Princess Tuanku Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akasah Khalil, attended the Josai International University Entrance Ceremony and then visited Minori no Sato in Togane City!
As a warm, welcoming gesture from Minori no Sato, President Koichi Furukawa presented the Prince and Princess with a cherry tree bonsai.
The Royal Couple strolled slowly through the market of flower and trees, and finally arrived at the strawberry harvesting greenhouse. On the way, they perused the greenery, proclaiming Togane City as a town of wonderful trees and shrubs.
While they were in the greenhouse, the official Malaysian broadcasting camera crew photographed the couple eating large, luscious strawberries.
The other attendees also enjoyed the ripe, abundant Togane strawberries.
After enjoying the strawberries, Togane’s Mayor, Naoharu Shiga, discussed the development and expansion of the town’s agricultural sales market.
After that, at the Minori no Sato open-air meeting area, the Royal assembly enjoyed a performance of Togane Bayashi, skillfully executed by Aotokai, one of Togane’s cultural preservation societies. This traditional musical performance is an important part of Togane city’s sultural heritage.
The visiting group began dancing to the music. Even though the dancing was spontaneous, everyone appeared in tune with the music, moving with perfect rhythm, and thoroughly surprising the onlookers!
The Aotokai performers assembled for a commemorative photograph.
The Royal couple presented a beautiful plate, decorated with the word “Malaysia,” as a token of friendship to Togane’s Mayor, Naoharu Shiga.
The Royal couple enjoyed shopping at the Togane Marche.
The Togane mascot “Totchi” has finally gone international…”I have travelled to Malaysia!”
We thank the Royal Prince and Princess for honoring Minori no Sato with their visit.
